Trading Races: A Party Game for Black Culture

Several years ago, I was lucky to cross professional paths with Kenyatta Forbes, who was working as a Chicago Public Schools teacher at the time. As a dedicated educator and innovator, Kenyatta sought every possible grant, partnership and resource for her students, so it’s no surprise that her talents and tenacity have propelled her into a new world of entrepreneurship.

As a winner of various tech and teaching awards, she is always ahead of the curve when it comes to thought-provoking content, strategy and engagement. It’s been incredibly inspiring to see her grow and launch several projects and businesses, while also empowering leaders to activate solutions in education as the Community Manager for Mozilla x Hive Chicago.

Kenyatta was generous enough to make some time in her very busy schedule to sit down with me and unpack the genesis of her card game Trading Races. I hope you enjoy the video!

*Kenyatta was also featured on Vice, which you can check out here.
